Getting started with the app

NanoGig is a web page. There is nothing to install on the pedal, no account and no download: open it in a supported browser, connect, and play.

  • A Nano Cortex that is powered on.
  • A supported browser: Chrome or Edge on a computer, Chrome on Android, or the Bluefy browser on iPhone and iPad. See Browsers and devices.
  • Cortex Cloud disconnected. The pedal accepts one Bluetooth connection at a time, so close Cortex Cloud (or disconnect it) first. The same goes for a NanoGig Screen that is connected to the pedal.
  1. Open the app: johnnyborjomi.github.io/NanoGig.
  2. Tap Connect Nano Cortex.
  3. The browser shows a list of Bluetooth devices. Pick your pedal. This is the browser’s own permission step; it appears once per pedal.
  4. While the app looks for the pedal it shows the pairing gesture (hold EXIT + CAPTURE on the pedal) and a Cancel button.

The first connect reads all 64 preset names from the pedal, which takes a few seconds. The names are remembered on your device, so from the second connect on the screen is live as soon as the link is up.

After that, Connect goes straight to the pedal the browser already knows. Show all BT devices opens the browser’s list on purpose, for example to pick a different pedal.

Tap the full-screen button and stand the device where you can see it. On Android, Chrome’s menu → Add to Home screen installs NanoGig as a full-screen landscape app.

The app reconnects by itself after you power-cycle the pedal. If it asks you to pick the pedal again every time you open it, see Troubleshooting.

Demo mode on the connect screen runs the whole interface against a pretend pedal, so you can look around first.

Out of the box, NanoGig only reads from the pedal. Switching presets, toggling blocks and editing need control and edit mode. Back up your presets in Cortex Cloud before turning them on.
