Troubleshooting the app

  • Is something else connected to it? The pedal accepts one Bluetooth client at a time. Close Cortex Cloud, and disconnect a NanoGig Screen (its Menu → Disconnect) or another device running NanoGig.
  • Is it advertising? After a disconnect the pedal only advertises for a short while. Power-cycle it, or use the pairing gesture: hold EXIT + CAPTURE.
  • Is it in tap tempo mode? While tap tempo is active the pedal may not advertise at all. Leave the mode on the pedal and try again.
  • Is Bluetooth on and allowed? On Android, Chrome also needs the Nearby devices (or Location) permission.

The app asks for the pedal on every launch

Section titled “The app asks for the pedal on every launch”

Stock Chrome keeps Bluetooth permissions in memory only, so an installed app that was closed (or that Android stopped in the background) asks for the pedal again.

Chrome has a setting that fixes it, still behind a flag:

  1. In Chrome, open chrome://flags/#enable-web-bluetooth-new-permissions-backend.
  2. Set it to Enabled and tap Relaunch.
  3. Pick the pedal once more.

From then on the app reconnects on launch, and again whenever it comes back to the foreground while disconnected. The connect screen shows these steps only when the flag is off.

Names are remembered on your device and re-read after a quiet minute, which picks up renames made in Cortex Cloud. Menu → Refresh re-reads them now. Reading the list takes the pedal about six seconds, during which it is slow to react to footswitches, which is why the app waits for a quiet moment.

Opening Cortex Cloud takes the pedal away from NanoGig, and the other way round. The app reconnects by itself after a pedal power cycle.

Factory cabs can be bypassed but not re-enabled from the app, so their toggle is locked. User IRs and captures work both ways.

NanoGig is tested on pedal firmware NanOS 2.2.1; other versions may show wrong values. Please report it:

  1. Menu → Log → copy. The log is encrypted when copied; only support can read it.
  2. Open an issue on GitHub with your device, browser, the pedal’s firmware version (shown in the menu) and the log.
